Residents,

FPL

We have been advised that all services have been restored. FPL has done a remarkable job getting Crescent City residents back on- line given the amount of damage done to lines throughout the City. Should you have post-storm outages, please report the outage to FPL.

FEMA

The City has met with the FEMA area representative, and we were advised that FEMA is trying to get a claims/question site set up at the Putnam County Fairgrounds. We requested they set up a claims site in our area and were told FEMA would work on it. You might also have FEMA specialists knocking on your door later should they find it necessary. They should show you their FEMA identification. In the meantime, if your residence was impacted from Hurricane Milton, you can file a claim multiple ways beginning with calling 800-621-3362, going online to DisasterAssistance.gov or downloading the FEMA mobile app. There are an overwhelming number of claims from the two recent hurricane events, and they might be delayed processing claims, but they are working to get to all claims. FEMA does advise that if you have insurance, you should submit your claim to your insurance company as soon as possible.

DEBRIS

Should you have storm debris, please put it to the curbside, not on the road.  We are working with the County and FEMA to get debris contractors to assist with pick-up in the City. Until such time, our Public Works staff has been hauling the debris off in between their regular maintenance duties.  Additionally, the street sweeper cannot sweep the streets until much of the moss and debris is out of the streets due to the moss clogging up the sweeper. We hope to get the sweeper on the streets soon.

PARK CLOSURES

For the public’s safety, we are keeping the City’s parks on Lake Crescent closed at this time. The docks have sustained damage and are still underwater. Additionally, there is debris floating that could cause injury. We will open the parks up once the water recedes and we deem the facilities safe for use.

TARPS

The City still has a few 20×30 roof tarps for anyone that suffered damage from Hurricane Milton. Please call 386-559-4563 should you need a tarp, and we will arrange to meet you.

Should you have any questions or concerns, City Hall phones are back in service, and you can call 386-698-2525. We appreciate your continued patience as we all work together to clean-up from Hurricane Milton.  After watching the news reports from other communities, we are very blessed.
