TWO VIOLENT CRIMES IN CRESCENT CITY

Last night, 06/19/2024, two Crescent City men were victims of robbery, burglary and assault in two separate incidents less than an hour apart.

One victim told deputies he was getting ready for bed when he heard a knock on his door. When he opened the door, three men pushed into the Prospect Street residence. The victim was able to run up the stairs and escape outside a window. After he fled his residence, the victim saw deputies at an apartment at Bay Lane where they were investigating a robbery with firearm and aggravated assault.

The victim at Bay Lane told deputies three men approached him as he was walking to his car. One of the men pointed a gun at him. During a struggle with another suspect, the victim was struck with a handgun.  The victim said the suspects stole money from him before running away.

Both victims described the suspects as black men, one had dread locks tied into a ponytail and two had short hair. The one victim told deputies the men were wearing masks.

Due to the proximity of the incidents and the close timeframe, detectives believe the suspects are the same in both cases.
